In 2012, Ann retired from a very successful career as a Corporate H.R. Executive moving from Milton to Tillsonburg with her husband where she has dedicated herself to working on various Tillsonburg Council appointed Boards and committees as well as within Oxford County. However, her main focus is in creating incredible wildlife paintings that has quickly gained her recognition in Oxford County and beyond and is sought after for commissions, as well as donations for fundraising with various organizations. Ann also has had success in being accepted in various juried shows, and will also be in attendance at the Falls Creek Art Festival as well as Oxford Creates this year.
Ann is very passionate about wildlife and conservation, and brings her paintings to life in acrylics by capturing the very essence of her wildlife subjects. While she is professionally dedicated to her wildlife works, Ann also has done many pieces on commission of people portraiture, horse portraits, as well as the passions that her customers have in their life such as family portraits, pet portraits, boats, and aircraft as well.
The trademark of Ann’s wildlife paintings is in capturing the animal in detail against a dark or semi dark background that highlights the natural way of her subject.
While most of her work is done from photographs, Ann also will do from live subjects. Having spent some time in her early working career with African Lion Safari and Equine competitions, she has gained a solid understanding of the movement, skeletal and muscular structure and emotions of the animals she paints and her success is largely due to the emotional/behavioural uniqueness she attains with her brush.
