Flower Arranging

Arrange Posies Like a Pro
Workshop Leader: Linda Yeoman
Saturday and Sunday 2:30-3:30,
Discovery Village

Learn how to arrange posies like a pro as you make a gorgeous, rustic arrangement. Linda will demonstrate how to make a one sided arrangement. You will then be guided through step by step how to create your own arrangement that you can take home.

Linda will give you ideas so that you can go out in your backyard, and see what kinds of material you can harvest. Cutting gardens are a great way to save money. In addition, numerous kinds of garden plants, wild flowers, and other natural materials in our yards are useful in floral designs. These are absolutely free.

Don’t limit yourself to flowers. Floral material is more than just blooms. It includes herbs, veggies, fruits, cones and seedpods of all sorts, as well as foliage and branches—blooming and dried. Linda will bring examples for you to see.

A container, plant material, flowers and a handout will be provided. If you can bring a small pair of pruning shears, scissors, wire snips and a small knife that would be helpful. Linda will have some extras for those who need to borrow them for the workshop.

Linda Yeoman worked professional floral designer for 9 years in London. She is a member of the Woodstock Horticultural Society and is currently studying to be a horticultural judge. You may also know her from the area as a local artist who does gourd sculptures. She will also have a booth at the festival to display her gourd art.
